密歇根大学的ee专业能申请博士吗?
UM的EEE Ph.D. in EECS is a 5-year program with 2 possible tracks: CPS and Nano/Material. First year, students take classes on both core topics (信号处理,通信,控制,机器学) and their two focus areas. Second and third years are devoted to coursework on the focal area, while fourth and fifth years are dedicated to research. You will need to have a good grasp of core material before taking courses for your focused area(否则跟不上). There is no definitive list of required classes but here are some suggestions(以EE系为例推荐的课程):
1.信号处理: 4个core class+3个elective class;
2.通信: 4个core class+3个lecture/labs;
3.控制: 4个core class+3个optional class;
4.机器学习: 4个core class+3个labs/lectures.
In terms of research, there are more than 70 active faculty members in this department, each working closely with graduate students on cutting-edge projects. The department has strong connections with industry, so you can expect well-paid co-op positions during fall / spring breaks.
If you wish to apply for an F-1 visa, start by filling out an online application through the International Student Office(URL), which then forwards your materials to the Graduate School for processing. You will need to submit transcripts from all previous universities attended, a resume, GRE and TOEFL scores, three letters of recommendation, and a personal statement explaining why you want to come here, what you plan to do if admitted, etc.
You will be interviewed over the phone or via Skype by current graduate students who are also part of the admissions committee. After all documents are received, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until April 1st或November 1st. In order to receive our admission decision, you must have submitted all documentation as specified by our office[包括简历,成绩单复印件,语言成绩证明等].
We consider applicants for both the Fall和Spring入学季。 For MS applicants, we usually inform students of the final decision about 3 months after receiving their materials. For Ph.D. applicants, we generally let students know about 6 weeks after the submission of all necessary materials.
